Sky said that it would sell its Sky Stream service and ‘puck’ in the UK. Up to now, the service has only been available to buyers of the Sky Glass TV sets. The contract to use the system costs from £26 ($28) per month which includes Sky Ultimate TV and Netflix Basic.A £40 ($43) set-up fee is payable (halved for a longer contract).
There is a ‘Whole Home Pack’ that allows up to five additional devices to be used and there are service add-on packs including Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, BT Sport and UHD and Dolby Atmos.
What We Think
We pointed to the potential end of new satellite installations a couple of days ago, (Sky to Stop Satellite Dish Installations? Italy & SA Get Sky Glass) Sky is reported to have denied a plan to stop at the end of next year, but The Guardian said that a Sky source had said that it’s a case of ‘when not if’. (BR)
