Sky Deutschland could potentially show at least some of this year’s FIFA World Cup in Ultra HD, after a deal was agreed with rights-holders ARD and ZDF (public broadcasters in Germany) to sub-license 25 of the competition’s 64 individual games for UHD broadcast.
It was announced last year that every match in the FIFA World Cup would be produced in UHD and HDR, a first for the competition. (FIFA World Cup to be Produced in Ultra HD and HDR)
