Sim2 will show its Sim2xTV, an ultrashort throw projection system at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. It is available either as a stand-alone cased display, or for integration into furniture, with only a ‘crystal glass’ surface visible. That will be the focus in Milan.
The display has a maximum 110″ image diagonal and uses a laser-phosphor light source and has 2,900 Ansi lumens of output from a single chip FullHD DLP chip. There are three HDMI inputs and multiple infrared receivers. The lens throw ratio is 0.25:1
The system is designed to be optimised when used with an ‘Optical Surface’ which is available in 92″/100″ or 110″ and feature lenticular lenses designed to optimise the image quality by absorbing ambient light. The Crystal Glass has been designed with special coatings to control unwanted stray light.
The design of the case that is in the stand-alone version has been created to look modern and uses aluminium and stainless steel. We reported on the black stand-alone version at IFA. (SIM2 Launches xTV Laser Projector)
Sim2 points out that the engine needs to be in a cabinet that either has a forced fan flow or otherwise can remove heat from the engine.
List price is €14,000.
