Sigmaintell Research released its price forecast for August panel pricing for mobile and tablet use. It’s not surprise to see all the segments reported reduced prices and the firm sees no signs of recovery in the near term. The firm said that it expects global smartphone shipments will be about 1.20 billion units in 2022, a YOY decrease of about 7.4%.
Demand was weak for everything except flexible OLED, where demand is a bit better, but capacity has increased, cancelling out the potential benefit. China Mainland makers are still relatively active in their new project pricing strategies.
