Sharp went to the Ceatec trade show in Japan and focused on the 8K announcements that it made at the recent IFA show. (Sharp To Re-enter Smartphone Business and Push TV) The Aquos 8K TV is due to be first released in Japan on 1st December. Sharp highlighted the launch of the broadcast satellite “BSAT – 4a” which is intended to support 4K and 8K broadcast and was launched at the end of September. Sharp started taking pre-orders and said at the show that it is also seeing sales ‘beyond expectations’.
The company also showed an electric robotic and unmanned small vehicle that can be used for security purposes and has 360º video.
