Samsung has confirmed that some of its 2018 TVs will support FreeSync up to 120Hz (Big Screen TVs for Gaming to be Stutter Proofed) for gaming. Samsung in Europe has said that its NU8000 range and QLED TVs will support the feature and will also support the HDMI 2.1 Variable Refresh Feature (although the basic interface remains HDMI 2.0).
Latency will also be brought down to 15.4ms in game mode and ‘less than 7ms’ in VRR mode.
Samsung released this information at an event in Europe, but could not confirm if the screens would support the VRR feature on shipment, or whether it would need a firmware update. (BR)
