Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has built a strong relationship with Samsung Electronic’s executive chairman and de facto leader, Jay Y. Lee. Elkann is also chairman of Stellantis and CEO of Exor, the holding company controlled by the Agnelli family, which holds a majority stake in Ferrari. Earlier this year, Harman, a U.S. automotive parts manufacturer wholly owned by Samsung Electronics, signed an agreement with Ferrari to provide Ready Upgrade solutions, a suite of hardware and software that allows customers to add and upgrade vehicle features with their smartphones. Samsung has also partnered with Stellantis to jointly produce batteries.
