Rockchip has showed its new upgraded RK3328 UHD TV box SOC solution at a trade show in Hong Kong and claims it is almost three times faster than previous products as well as adding USB 3.0. It was announced at CES and was shown at MWC. The chip features a Quad-core 64-bit Cortex-A53 architecture, up to 1.5GHz and a Mali -450 GPU. It supports Android 7.1 and Linux OS, 4K 60fps video decoding (VP9 and H.265), HDR10/HLG and HDR to SDR conversion, and meets the latest Ultra HD Premium (UHD) requirements. The chip can convert between Rec 2020 and Rec.709 colour spaces.
The chip supports DRM widevine level 1 certification standard, recognised by Google.
