Quanta Computer reported a revenue decline of 10.2% month-on-month and 28.4% year-on-year in June, down to NT$65.75 billion ($2.15 billion), according to Digitimes.
Quanta is struggling at the moment due to delays with the release of Apple’s new MacBooks. Consolidated revenues apparently dropped 7.4% in the first half of 2018, compared with the first half of 2017 — coincidentally when Apple was placing orders for a new MacBook line-up.
The company shipped 3.4 million notebooks in the month of June and 9.2 million during the second quarter of 2018, Digitimes says.
Apple has postponed volume production of its new MacBooks until the third quarter of 2018, so analysts predict that Quanta’s shipments will increase sharply during the second half of 2018.
