Taiwan’s Older-Gen LCD Lines to Focus on Automotive Sector

Digitimes reports that, as newer-generation LCD production lines commence mass production and older-generation fabs in Korea begin to shut down, Taiwan’s 4–7.5G facilities will continue to operate, shifting their attention towards automotive applications.

Digitimes Research data indicates that global shipments of automotive panels will increase at a CAGR of 10% between 2017 and 2025.

Automotive central informative display applications currently account for the highest volume of LCD panel production, while the manufacture of panels for cluster dashboard applications are ramping up and the sector has the highest growth potential, the website said.
