R&D Core’s Touch Tech Works With Flexible Screens

R&D Core, a UK-based start-up, is working with Plastic Logic to develop a resistive touch system for flexible displays.

Digital Resistive Area Sensing (DRAS) layers are integrated behind a display stack, and respond to pressure from a user’s fingers. Because the layers are behind the display, the screen’s optical performance is not affected.

The DRAS system is ‘virtually borderless’ and extremely thin: less than 100µm. Multi-touch is supported.
