Dubai-based rental house, Protec, used the BlackTrax motion-tracking tool at the opening ceremony of the World Air Games in late 2015. A 6m-wide spherical projection surface was suspended 330m above the stage, alongside aerial performers on cable lines. Protec used 15 BlackTrax stringers and five BlackTrax cameras to track the sphere’s movement, in order to align the video. Eight of Barco’s XLM-HD30 projectors, and 10 of Christie’s Roadster S-20K projectors, were used for the main screen and stage, with six more XLM-HD30 models for the moving sphere.
