Pricing of LCD TV panels will soften in Q2’15, say sources in Asia, as China’s BOE ramps up production at the G8.5 Chongqing plant. LG Display will also increase its shipments. These factors will increase supply and lower pricing. TV panel demand is expected to pick up this month as Chinese vendors prepare for promotions in May (see our front page story this week for more – TA). It is thought that BOE’s production ramp will cause it to bypass CSOT and become the world’s largest producer of 32″ TV panels.
