What They Say
Taiwanese LED specialist PlayNitride Display Co Ltd said that it had ‘virtually’ shown a 37″ FullHD microLED display based on PCB substrates which can be seamlessly tiled.
The firm was also showing a 7.56″ transparent microLED with 60% transparency and 114 ppi. Smaller still, there was a 1.39″ circular display with 339ppi.
Moving to a display for AR, the firm had a 0.39″ 1411 ppi full colour microdisplay with 50,000 cd/m².
What We Think
By my calculation, the 37″ FullHD display would be around 0.425mm pitch, which is very fine and with a very low pitch to use a PCB, right at the smallest limit according to the recent briefing by Macroblock (Macroblock Talks Up Virtual Production and MiniLED)
Sadly, the firm did not provide any way to connect to the virtual exhibition. However, I have heard that the firm showed these products at an event in Taiwan in December. (BR)
