Pico Headset Comes to Europe

What They Say

UploadVR reports a Chinese analyst, who has been a good source of information in the past, as saying that Pico (owned by ByteDance, which also owns TikTok) plans to get its next headset to market before the ‘Cambria’ from Meta. The current Pico Neo 3 is similar to Meta’s Quest 2 in spec and price, but the the new Pico headset will be a higher end device with pancake lenses and both eye and face tracking as well as higher resolution and ‘inside-out’ tracking. The headset is expected to costs a lot more than the Pico 3 which is now being offered in some countries in Europe as the Neo 3 Link for €449.

UploadVR also details the specs of the Neo 3 Link and Quest 2 and Vive Focus 3.

What We Think

As far as we can tell, Pico is much less successful in sales volumes than Meta with the Quest 2, but ByteDance has a lot of resources to drive its interest in the headset market. (BR)
