Philips Ensures Image Colour Consistency

Philips 272P4APJKHB

MMD’s 272P4APJKHB (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 36) is a new P-line LCD monitor for colour-critical applications. The 27″ display is factory-calibrated to cover 99% of the Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB colour gamuts; it also has six-axis adjustment and can display 10-bit colour.

SmartUniformity ensures that the display auto-adjusts to compensate for differences in the on-screen image. Brightness and colour fluctuations are adjusted in this way. The screen also delivers an average luminance uniformity of more than 95%.

As it is intended for applications where prolonged use is likely, the 272P4APJKHB features flicker-free technology. Additionally it includes Philips’ SmartErgoBase (150mm height adjustment, 130° swivel, -5°/20° tilt and 90° pivot), a webcam, dual 2W speakers and MultiView technology to display an image from two sources at once.

An IPS panel provides 2560 x 1440 resolution, a 12ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 178 deg viewing angles. Brightness is 350cd/m². DisplayPort, HDMI (x2), dual-link DVI and USB 3.0 (x3) connections are featured.

The 272P4APJKHB is available now, for £540 ($820) ex VAT.

We have heard that the monitor uses quantum dots from QD Vision to reach the 99% Adobe RGB colour gamut, which will also be used on AOC models in the future.
