According to reports from Asia, handset panel module prices are expected to fall more than 10% in Q4. The slump will be caused by competition for Chinese orders between vendors from Taiwan, China, Japan and Korea. Orders in China are expected to be limited during the period, so panel makers are lowering quotes.
Lenovo has begun to place orders for new tablet products with Chinese vendors, including BOE and O-Film, say supply chain sources in Asia. However, the sources also said that Lenovo is considering increasing orders to Taiwanese companies next year, as Chinese makers have been slow to meet deadlines.
