UK-based Holotronica has developed a 3D display solution called Holo-Gauze. As well as creating a polarised 3D projection system, the transparent metallic gauze can be used to show 2D hologram effects, when viewed without polarised glasses. It is not a traditional Pepper’s Ghost system, said Holotronica.
A (relatively) simple way to create a virtual model of a 3D object, with a single camera, has been hit upon by a group at the Centro de Investigaciones en Optica in Mexico. Following the launch of its own-brand smart TV, John Lewis says that sales in its electricals and home technology (EHT) business grew 11.7% year on year in the first half of this year. The company’s overall turnover for the period improved 9.4%, with like-for-like sales up 8.2%.
In the UK, Midwich is now offering a new British TV manufacturer, Linsar, to its consumer TV portfolio. Linsar is an independent company which was established in 2006, producing TVs ranging from 51cm to 27cm using direct LED and edge lit LED technology. The TV models are offered with a five year warranty.
