Intel has cut its first quarter turnover forecast by almost a billion dollars, saying it now expects turnover to be around $12.8 billion having previously forecast $13.7 billion. Taiwanese LCD driver IC supply makers expect to see improved performances heading into Q2’15, as LCD TV and smartphone vendors begin to release high-resolution products. For example, LCD driver IC demand for UltraHD TVs is expected to be three times that of FullHD units, according to Taiwanese sources.

Eizo has found some parallel imports of its products into Switzerland, due to the high exchange rate of the Swiss franc. The vendor has issued a warning to local resellers that while these products might be cheaper, they are not covered by Eizo’s full five-year warranty.
Panasonic is reported to be planning to convert its TV manufacturing plant in Mexico to a production base for ventilation fans.
