Qualcomm has entered into an agreement with China’s Allwinner Technology, to extend the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors in the Chinese connected tablet segment. Allwinner will offer system solution services to OEMs and ODMs creating 4G tablets powered by Snapdragon 410 and 210 processors.
Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) has undertaken a research project to develop ‘novel’ glasses-free 3D display systems. One of these systems was a 200″ display using super-multi view 3D video technologies and an electronic holography system utilising laser light. Nanosys has received a follow-on investment from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, the venture capital arm of Samsung Group. The additional funds are a follow-on to a 2010 investment and will be used to expand production capacity.
