Pace Shareholders OK Arris Deal
Arris said that Pace’s shareholders have approved the proposed merger between the two companies. There is still a possibility that anti-trust issues might delay or put conditions on the merger.
Netflix Free from Vodafone in Spain
Netflix launched its service in Italy, Spain and Portugal this week as expected, with Vodafone in each country announcing that it has integrated Netflix into its system. In Spain, the service will be supplied free to customers by Vodafone for six months.
Sony Gives a Clue on Morpheus Pricing
Sony Computer Entertainment’s CEO, Andrew House, has told Bloomberg that the Playstation VR headset “will be priced as a new gaming platform”. It’s not a firm price, but is a clue towards what we might see and some have suggested it will be around €400.

LG Display reported decline in the net profit for Q3 2015 by 44% YoY to KR₩ 198 billion ($174 million) from KR₩ 354 billion ($311 million). Vestel Uses Quantenna for Wi-Fi
Quantenna of the UK said that it has done a deal with Vestel for the Turkish TV maker to include Quantenna’s QSR1000 chipset to support 802.11ac Wi-Fi in some sets in 32″, 40″ and 48″. Dolby Labs reported a flat 4th quarter in terms of net profit at $44.5 million, compared to $45.9 million last year. Turnover for Q4 also remained flat, at $229.5 million compared to $227.0 million YoY. Digitimes Research said that smartphone shipments from Taiwan-based brands and ODMs dropped by 10% to 19.54 million in the third quarter of 2015.
