MediaTek reported Q1 2016 net profit of NT$ 4.5 billion ($139 million), down 38% YoY. Turnover was NT$ 55.9 billion ($1.7 billion), up 17.6% YoY. Intense competition as well as higher sales of higher-end consumer electronics characterized the quarter.
TOPK reported Q1 net profit of NT$ 52 million ($1.6 million). Turnover for the period was NT$ 21.2 billion ($653 million). Shipments of panels across all segments declined an average of about 34% for the quarter.
Time Warner Cable has said that it added 21,000 net video subscribers in Q1’16: from 10.821 million to 10.842 million.
