German commercial broadcasters’ association VPRT has projected that pay-TV and VoD revenues in Europe’s German-speaking countries will pass €3 billion this year. Innolux and Next Biometrics (of Norway) have announced that they are investing in establishing mass-production capacity for a new flexible fingerprint sensor technology. Next already uses Innolux’s factories to produce rigid sensors. It now aims to produce 2 million flexible sensors per month in 2017, growing to 10 million per month in 2018.

Germany’s overall advertising market was up 5.7% YoY in 2015, according to Nielsen. OOH advertising grew 6%, led by DOOH. OOH advertising represents 16% of the overall German advertising market. Mobile advertising recorded a growth of 62% while TV recorded a growth of 8%.
Economy class passengers on Emirates will get augmented reality in their flight package starting from August. Passengers can scan a a QR code using an app from Blippar that can be downloaded and used on board. Passenger can then access games and health tips.
