OVAB Reports Mixed Signage Results Across Europe

Spain and Portugal’s joint DBCI fell very slightly in the first two months of 2015. However, an increase in sales of professional displays and DOOH equipment is predicted in Spain.

From 54.4 points in November/December, the Spain and Portugal DBCI declined 7.11 points to 47.63 in January/February. Despite this, expectations are good, with 90.5% of market stakeholders rating their current situation as ‘good’ or ‘satisfactory’ (although the 28.6% who said ‘good’ is a fall from the 52.4% in November/December). In addition, 81% expect the next six months to be better, while 14.3% expect them to be roughly the same.

53.9% of companies created new jobs in Spain and Portugal, creating between 40 and 60 between them.

Retail (point-of-sale) and large (55″+) displays did well last year, while stakeholders were unhappy with the lack of quality content. In 2015, trends are expected to include large and small displays, interactivity, mobile integration and growing DOOH networks.
