OVAB Reports Mixed Signage Results Across Europe

Italy’s digital signage market continued to shift in the January/February survey, compared to the previous poll in November/December.

The DBCI fell 8.63 points, to 23.69 base points. Most stakeholders rate the market situation as ‘satisfactory’ or ‘good’; however, the outlook has become much more conservative than it was last year.

OVAB believes that Italy’s economic situation is having an effect on the market. Large-scale investments have been reduced, postponed or cancelled. There are signs of recovery, however, particularly with new cost-effective and turnkey solutions for small and medium businesses.

Half of Italian signage companies hired new staff in 2014, creating between 30 and 50 new jobs in the market.

Retail (point-of-sale) will be important to the Italian signage market this year. Omni-channel, mobile integration and interactivity will be key, while demand will grow for outdoor/high brightness units.
