Ostin Technology, a Chinese supplier of display modules and polarizers, has recently announced its successful bid to provide metro platform display products for upcoming metro projects in Beijing, Tianjin, and Nanjing. The orders include platform door displays, metro passenger information system (PIS) screens, and metro platform monitors.
Under the contract, Ostin will supply a total of 500 units of 28-inch bar-shaped platform door displays, 406 units of 43-inch and 50-inch PIS screens, and 20-inch metro platform monitors. These display products are designated for deployment in the newly constructed Beijing Subway Line 12, the new Tianjin Rail Transit Line 11, and specific Nanjing Metro stations respectively.
The display modules manufactured by Ostin are customized liquid crystal (LC) displays with unique LC drivers, designed for long-term durability. These commercial LCD display modules are specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of the rail transit industry, ensuring reliable performance in the face of vehicle vibrations and prolonged operation. Additionally, the metro platform display products offer modular design and network operation features, coupled with extensive content publishing capabilities.
Ostin Technology Group has been expanding its product portfolio to include smart display and photo sharing products. In 2022, the company launched its first smart display product, the Pintura PinTab Series IX. The Pintura PinTab is a large-format interactive display that can be used for a variety of purposes, including education, entertainment, and business.
The company’s main competitors are BOE, Innolux, and HannStar Display Corporation. The company has a good track record of growth, with revenue increasing by an average of 20% per year until a dip in 2022, reminiscent of all panel manufacturers. Still, it is well-positioned for future growth, as the demand for TFT-LCD modules and polarizers in ancillary markets is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.
