Optoma has just launched a new high brightness laser ultra short throw projector – ZH420UST. It has FullHD resolution and uses a DuraCore laser phosphor light source and a DLP imager. Output is 4,000 lumens and Ansi contrast is 1,800:1 with uniformity of 85%. The throw ratio is 0.25:1 and it is intended for us at 0.46m – 0.55m from the wall to give images of 2.21m – 2.59m (87in – 102in). Optoma quotes colour as 114% of Rec. 709. I
Features include HDBaseT, four corner correction and a built-in edge blending and warping processor which Optoma implemented for leisure and hospitality venues where it may be used where installation is at an angle or where the wall is uneven. It can also be used sideways for portrait image orientation. It is certified with a dust resistance IP5X rating.
