Oppo has released the UDP-205, a new UltraHD Blu-ray player that has improved facilities over the previous UDP-203 model with an emphasis on better audio. The new player has 7.1 analogue outputs and has a stereo analogue output with a dedicated DAC. HDR support is HDR10 at the moment, but the company is promising a firmware update to support Dolby Vision later this year.
There are dual HDMI 2.0 output ports and one HDMI 2.0 input ports to connect streaming devices. It has an HDMI 1.4 audio port for connections to older audio receivers.
Pricing in the US is $1,299.
