Osterhout Design Group (ODG) said that it has received a $58 million Series A investment to accelerate production and R&D of its smart glasses products. Participating in the investment are Shenzhen O-film Tech Co., Vanfund Urban Investment & Development Co., along with 21st Century Fox and “several individual investors.”

VR and AR continues to generate considerable investment. (VR Funding Booms). ODG seems to us to have a solid position in the early industry-driven AR market (although we are not, of course, investment advisers!). (BR)
