Kyocera’s new 7″ TFT-LCD display modules both feature capacitive on-cell touch, and are only differentiated from each other in the touch interface. The TCG070W VLRPC-GD117 addresses touch via I²C, while the TCG070W VLRPC-GD118 addresses via USB.
Both modules feature five touch points and shielded cables, but no front glass. They are designed for lightweight applications or those where additional front glass is intrusive or unnecessary. The units have a wide operating temperature range (-30 deg to 80 deg ) and are relatively compact (170 x 110 x 9.2mm).
Resolution is 800 x 480, with 170 deg viewing angles and 350 cd/m² of brightness. An LED driver is built in and the modules feature an LVDS interface. Pricing is on application.
An additional 12.1″ module (1280 x 800) will be available next year; orders will begin to be accepted in February.
