New XR Experience in Canada “Uncontained” is Contained

What They Say

A firm called XR Immersive Tech Inc. has said that it will launch a new immersive XR experience in Canada at the Playland Amusement park in British Columbia and the PNE Fair in Vancouver. It’s called ‘Uncontained’ although the experience is based on containers that provide up to six players with co-operative mixed reality games. Motion capture, spatial audio and VR headsets are used and there is haptic feedback which is said to include the sensations of heat and cold.

Because the experiences are based on highly mobile shipping containers, they can be moved around to make the most of different locations at different times.

What We Think

The portability of this solution looks like a good option to take the experiences where there are potential players rather than needing to provide varying content to a geographically fixed audience. (BR)
