New Size of Sony “Digital Paper” Released

Sony has introduced a new version of its ‘Digital Paper’ tablet which uses E Ink technology and is now available in a 10.3″ format with 1404 x 1872 resolution (4:3 aspect – 227ppi). The DPT-CP1 has other specifications in line with the existing DPT-RP1 which has a 13.3″ display with 1650 x 2200 resolution. Storage is 16GB on the device. Battery life with the Wi-fi on is around one week, while with it off, it’s around three weeks.

The software on the unit allows direct editing and writing on .pdf documents and the software for the device includes printer drivers that allow the tablet to be used for ‘paperless printing’.

The unit is available now and costs $599.
