What They Say
The Verge had a look at what Google is doing in augmented reality in a project known as ‘Project Iris’. The project, which has a team of around 300 people, is said to be focussing on mixed reality with video captured of the real world that is mixed with virtual content. It may arrive around 2024 and be powered by a custom processor and running Android. It will standalone, without power or other connections.
Some of the features that are being developed are based on learnings from the Starline project (Google Previews Breakthrough Project Starline)
