Canal+ Group has revealed that its new Ultra HD set-top-box is powered by Wyplay, creator of software solutions for TV operators. The new device is fully hybrid, with streams coming from satellite and the internet. (Canal+ Launches Ultra HD Content via New STB)
Wyplay and Canal+ Group have been working together for more than six years. Using Wyplay’s Frog open source model, Canal+ has been involved in designing and developing the application running on top of Wyplay middleware.
Wyplay has also provided middleware upgrades for terrestrial and satellite legacy boxes and contributed to the development of the company’s new hybrid terrestrial and OTT Cube S box, unveiled in 2015.
