NEC Display Solutions Europe has appointed Simon Jackson as senior vice president of sales EMEA.
Jackson has spent more than two decades at NEC and has been promoted from vice president of strategic and vertical sales EMEA. In his new role, he will lead the company’s entire sales organisation, comprising regional sales teams, as well as the strategic and vertical sales teams.
The new role will capitalise on NEC’s recent strong growth in the EMEA region by merging the roles of strategic and vertical sales with regional sales. Jackson will be responsible for bringing a more strategic and unified focus to the company’s sales strategy across all verticals and country markets.
Jackson has managed divisions and has also been instrumental in building, developing and leading teams across EMEA. He has also recently been elected to head the board of the Digital Signage Organisation (DSO). The organisation provides a voice for Europe’s digital signage industry, providing a forum for learning and sharing best practice for signage across every industry and application.
“Simon was the natural choice to lead our new, unified sales team,” said Bernd Eberhardt, president and CEO at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “Throughout his time at NEC he has consistently demonstrated the leadership qualities that this demanding new role requires. As we look to capitalise on our success across EMEA, Simon brings a wealth of experience, strategic insight and industry knowledge that will be invaluable as we look to pursue our further growth in the region.”
“This is an exciting time for both NEC and the industry as a whole,” said Jackson. “The EMEA market for digital signage is growing at almost 10% a year, and will be worth more than $7 billion by 2020. Thanks to the great work by our vertical, regional and strategic teams, as well as recent acquisitions like S[quadrat], we are in great shape to secure a large share of this booming market. Our customers can see NEC as a trusted advisor and a partner that is strongly committed to achieving their business objectives. This consultancy-led approach will be key to our continued growth in the years ahead.”
