Multitasking Rising, But Rarely TV-Related

There has been a significant increase in multitasking (including, but not limited to, second screen use) while people watch TV, says TiVo. 51% of 856 survey respondents said that they multitask every time or almost every time that they watch TV, compared to 36% last year. These activities are rarely related to the programme being watched; only 5% said that their activities were always or almost always related to the TV; 50% said it was never or almost never related. Smartphones (78%) and laptops (72%) were the most popular devices for second screen use.
