Economia Digital reports that Movistar Plus, the IPTV service from Telefónica in Spain, is launching UltraHD channels that will feature La Liga football and formula one racing. The content will be transmitted using HEVC at 30Mbps, according to Advanced Television. Telefónica is planning to offer free smart TVs from LG & Samsung to allow subscribers to access the content without an STB.
