Widespread reports are confirming the rumours that the next iPhone range will have 5.85″ and 6.45″ OLEDs and a 6.1″ LCD (Another Analyst Predicts Three New iPhones for 2018). Samsung Display has been reported as having already started production, but working back from today through the development and qualification process would have meant that the specifications would have need to have been finalised very soon after the iPhone X release, which would be surprising.
The OLED-A reports that a visit by Samsung to Apple didn’t end with agreement on the pricing for new OLEDs, but Apple is believed to want a price reduction to push down its costs and pricing to increase its iPhone volume.
Sources in the supply chain are saying that trial production will start in Q2 of this year.
