Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that the ‘better than Quest’ Cambria headset will be launched in October at the Connect 2022 event (date tba) and that it will include eyetracking and face tracking. The blogger said he had tried the experience.
“When I moved my eyes left and right, it’s tracking my eyes. When I make an angry face, it makes an angry face. It’s incredible,” he said.
What We Think
The Cambria/Quest Pro sounds as though it’s going to be a significant step forward in XR and passthrough AR for headsets. I’m intrigued to see if it includes the variable optics that Karl Guttag dug out. (Karl Guttag Digs Out Interesting Meta VR Optics) (BR)
