Meridian Audio Teams with Barco to Add Video Solutions

When we stopped by the UK-based Meridian Audio stand at CEDIA, we learned of a new partnership with Barco that allows Meridian dealers to access Barco Residential products so they can offer complete audio and video solutions to their custom install clients in the U.S.

Meridian used to have high-end and expensive projection solutions but dropped these perhaps 10 years ago. But Meridian offers a number of tools to help their dealers do audio and other solutions, so it made sense to find a video partner as well. The partnership allows Barco projectors to fully integrated into these tools to help specify the right projector, screens, speakers specs and layout, plus control solutions – including full wiring diagrams and room schematics. Meridian follows the InfoComm PISCR standards to help ensure that the video contrast ratios are high enough for the intended video viewing application, we were told.

Rayner Sheridan, director of marketing, Meridian noted that, “Our partnership with Barco Residential now provides dealers access to excellent quality projection technology in addition to our high-performance audio, all within Meridian’s complimentary Design and Specification Service. Together, Meridian and Barco Residential can now provide the three key ingredients for a successful home cinema or media room installation.”

Barco Residential’s range of products includes the Media Series, Theatre Series and flagship Cinema-at-Home Series projectors. Barco emphasizes the partnership will complement its residential line’s existing distribution channels, which remain unchanged.

Meridian’s newly remodeled and enhanced digital theater in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, UK, offers a showcase to enable clients to experience the power, depth and subtlety that a Meridian surround system and Barco Residential projection solution can deliver. This facility incorporates a combination of Meridian and Barco Residential products intended to create an engaging and immersive experience that will help clients emotionally engage with their favorite movies and music. – CC
