Mediatek has a new chip, the Helio P22 application processor for ‘new premium’ high end mid-tier devices and uses a 12nm manufacturing process, also used on the P60 which was announced earlier this year. (MediaTek Sales to be Boosted by Helio P60 Shipments to China in 2018 Q2) The processor has support for dual high quality cameras, AU and is claimed to have exceptional power efficiency. It has an octa-core design with Arm Cortex A53 processors and has support for 1600 x 720 displays.
One of the first phones to use the chip will be the Vivo Y83.
