MediaTek has released the Helio P25, which uses 16nm Octa core processing and supports single or dual cameras (24 MP or dual 13 MP) with de-noise algorithms and real time shallow depth of field bokeh. The camera can also support video HDR with preview functions. The company also said that its auto exposure speed has been accelerated.
The new chip has an ARM-based Cortex-A53 processor clocked at up to 2.5GHz with better power efficiency (25% better than previous chips). The Mali-T880 dual GPU can be clocked up to 900MHz. Memory (LPDDR4x) up to 6GB is supported. The new chip makes no difference to the video or display support of the P20 (up to dual 1920 x 1080 displays and 4Kx2K @ 30fps H.264, HEVC decode, with H.264 encode).
