Media Broadcast of Germany said that it was ready for ‘Magic Night’, the switchover of the German DVB-T system to DVB-T2 overnight on the 29th of March. The company said that there were 327 transmitters in 69 locations, with 129 of them in 43 locations supporting freenet TV. The company ran a live blog and succeeded in getting all the transmitters fully operational in just over 12 hours from the start.
There are 40 HD channels on the new system, 20 that are free-to-air and 20 available with payment.
