Long-awaited mixed reality headset Magic Leap One: Creator Edition is available now in select locations throughout the US, priced at $2,295.
We now know the device is powered by an Nvidia six-core Parker processor and a 256-core Pascal-based GPU, contained within the tethered Lightpack wearable computer, with 8GB of on-board video memory. It also features 128GB of internal storage — the device’s LuminOS operating system leaves 95GB remaining for software.
The device’s battery life is estimated at around three hours and it charges via USB-C. A 6DoF controller that doesn’t require additional camera hardware has also been developed using electromagnetic technology, according to FCC documentation.
