Lionsgate will open a 22,000 m² indoor VR theme park in Hengqin, China next year, in collaboration with Thinkwell Group. The park, called Lionsgate Entertainment World, will feature rides based on popular movies, including a Twilight-themed VR motorcycle experience, plus other rides based on Now You See Me, The Hunger Games, Gods of Egypt and Escape Plan, among others. The company’s long-term plans also include an outdoor VR park on South Korea’s Jeju Island, featuring attractions themed around franchises like Saw and Cabin in the Woods, due to open in 2020.
