LG is releasing its wallpaper TVs to international markets. The OLED TVs are very thin and the 65″ W7 model can be put on the wall, being only 2.75mm thick. When placed in a specially designed magnetic wall mount, it will protrude from the wall by only 4mm.
In the US, the unit will retail at $7,999 for the TV with the price of the mount being extra. The new range of TVs come with a Dolby Atmos soundbar and its own connection cable in the form of a white ribbon connector. Connection to 4K Blu-ray players and other set-top boxes can be made via the soundbar.
LG has also released UK pricing. According to CE-Pro, LG’s cheapest 55″ B7 or C7 will be £2,999, with the most expensive set being the 77″ LG W7 at £24,999. All models will have 4K resolution and will also support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
There are some marked differences in the new models, as this year as the C7 has a flat screen, whereas last year, the C6 had a curved screen. The main difference for the same priced, B7 and C7, is design.
The E7 (£3,499 – ££4,999) and G7 (£6,999 – £19,999) ranges feature a premium glass and aluminium design, and the W7 (£7,999 – £24,999) is the wallpaper OLED. The latter will not be available until this summer.
No prices have yet been received for the Eurozone countries.
