LG has received the 2015 Design for Recycling Award from the Institute of Scrap Recycling (ISRI). The award – ISRI’s highest – was granted to LG for its TVs, specifically the UltraHD and OLED models, which are said to ’emphasise recycling during every lifecycle phase’. They use mercury-free panels; recycled and recyclable plastics; PVC- and BFR-free components; small, light packaging; are easy to disassemble; and use standardised materials and connection types.
