There were two launches of previously-announced products for LG this week. The first is the company’s curved UltraHD OLED TV – the 65″ EC9700 (known as the EC970V in Europe, seen in Display Monitor Vol 21 No 27) – which has reached the USA. It costs $10,000 (original estimates were closer to $8,000).
Next is another curved screen, although one that is significantly smaller. The 34UC97 (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 33) was introduced at IFA. It is a 34″ LCD model with an IPS panel and 3440 x 1440 (21:9) resolution. Thunderbolt (x2), DisplayPort (x2) and HDMI (x2) ports are featured, as well as 7W speakers. The monitor is expected to cost $1,300, when it reaches consumers later this month.
