Asus has a new laptop based on the Qualcomm snapdragon 835 and running Windows S. The display is a 13.3″ IPS FullHD LCD with 8.9mm bezels. The unit has 4G LTE connectivity (with up to 1Gbps download) and battery life is quoted at 22 hours. Thickness is 14.9mm and it weighs 1.39kg. Storage is up to 256GB and memory is up to 8GB. Connectivity includes HDMI and dual USB A 3.1, but no Type-C.

Asus NovaGo

LG has updated its LG Gram notebooks which will be shown at CES. There are three models with 13.3″, 14″ and 15.6″ FullHD displays with battery life of 22.5, 21.5 and 19 hours respectively (although this seems a long way ahead of practical tests of the unit’s predecessor). The units have 8th Gen Intel Core i5 and Core i7 options and can be supplied with touch. The Gram is very slim, uses a magnesium alloy body that is MIL-ST 810G tested and weight is 2.12 pounds (961g) , 2.19 pounds (993g) and 2.41 pounds (1,095g), respectively. Connections include USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 3.

Samsung has updated its Notebook range to the Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 which have FullHD displays with 500 cd/m² output (450 cd/m² for the pen version). The unit has a 360º hinge and weight is 2.2lbs (995g) for the smallest 13.3″ unit and there is also a 15″ version. Processors are 8th generation Intel Core i7 and there is a discrete graphics option with an Nvidia MX150 on the 15″ (900X5T). Memory is up to 16MB and SSD up to 1TB. Connections include Thuderbolt 3 (via USB Type-C), USB 2.0 and 3.0 and HDMI.

There is a fingerprint sensor.

Deliveries will start in some countries in December.
