LG has addressed the display-related rumours surrounding its smartphone ranges. A month ago, details of the forthcoming LG G7 surfaced, which suggested that the device would come in two editions — one with the planned OLED display and one with a cheaper LCD variant. Now, comments from Hwang Jung-hwan, president and CEO of LG Mobile, suggest that the G7 will feature an LCD screen, the same as its predecessor, with OLED technology reserved for the more expensive V40, the upcoming successor to the V30, which also featured an OLED display.
The LG V40 will reportedly feature a 6″ QHD+ 18:9 P-OLED screen with an 80% screen-to-body ratio. Other rumoured specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor, an Adreno 630 GPU, the option of 6GB or 8GB RAM, 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of internal storage with microSD support and 16-megapixel rear and internal cameras. The dual-lens rear camera is believed to constitute a f/1.6-aperture lens with 10-bit HDR support, the other being a wide-angle lens with a 107° field of view.
